If you are looking for a Professional Driving Instructor who can provide Manual Lessons in a Ford Fiesta, then I hope to be able to help you.
I am a Grade A, DSA Approved Driving Instructor, and a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA). I have achieved the Institute of Advanced Motorists Award and have completed the Queen Elizabeth Foundation ADI course for Driving for the Disabled. I am an ex-Police Sergeant, who drove for the Traffic Department in Sussex.
I have been a successful driving Instructor for nineteen years, running my own business and have specialised in Driving for the Disabled. I am very happy to help new and experienced drivers to develop their skills, whether it be to pass their Driving Test, to build up confidence or to enhance existing skills and assist specific weaknesses, such as manoeuvres.
All driving instructors are subject to a regular test of continued fitness and ability to teach.
Learning to drive is a life skill and I am committed to educating my pupils on how to be ‘safe for life’. For this reason, if the Driving Test is the goal, I will not allow my pupils to take it until I am completely confident in their ability to be a SAFE driver and I expect pupils and their parents to trust my judgement on this.
Statistics show that 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers will be involved in an accident during their first year of driving. I believe that experience is the key to reducing this alarming statistic as the more driving experience a novice can gain, the more adept they will be at dealing with high risk situations. As a result I encourage my pupils to combine their lessons with a significant amount of private practice.
Pupils should aim to pass their theory test within 6 to 8 weeks of beginning their lessons as this forms the basis of knowledge required for practical driving lessons.
When a pupil is nearing test standard I perform mock tests thus placing the pupils in an exam situation and taking the opportunity to cover many types of road conditions. During this time I pay special attention to any weaknesses and focus on the most common driver faults which I know from past experience can cost people their test and more importantly lead to potential accidents. In order to eliminate these weaknesses I may set tasks for pupils to carry out during their own time.
I have a password protected section on my website which contains demonstration videos of all the manoeuvres that pupils can study in their own time which may help to speed up the learning process.
I am registered to conduct the Pass Plus Course which offers extra driving experience after passing the Practical Driving Test and covers skills including night driving, motorway driving, bad weather driving, town, country and dual carriageways.
I pride myself on maintaining the high standard of my pupils, with my main priority being to ensure that all, are not only capable of passing their practical test, but are also experienced enough not to endanger their own life and the lives of others and to achieve a confidence and level of skill that will sustain them throughout their driving career.
